Event Description

Dr. Marian Croak, a member of the Princeton Class of 1977 and a vice president for responsible AI and human-centered technology at Google Research, will be one of the first two Black women inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame in May 2022. In this keynote conversation, Dr. Croak, an acclaimed researcher and inventor who holds more than 200 patents, discussed being an intrapreneur and influencer of change in large industry; how to increase access for women to engineering; and the importance of including perspectives from the liberal arts and humanities in technology development. Jennifer Rexford, Gordon Y. S. Wu Professor in Engineering and Professor and Chair of the Department of Computer Science at Princeton, led the conversation. Claudia Roberts, a Princeton University graduate student in computer science, introduced the session.
